Here is the progress so far, the one side is a little more than half done...the other side will be finished differently (as the fringe isn't as far gone)...difficult due to the high kpsi, I will later stain the fringe, trim & secure the edge...I'm just experimenting, this is just for FUN!!

I can't even imagine the hours that goes into making a fine rug...thanks for saying "good job", as I doubt many realize how long it takes just to do some 'simple repairs'. The reason I decided to fix this rug (in a time consuming maner) is I believe the damage to this rug didn't affect the foundation (except for the missing fringe)...the selvages are intact, the back isn't faded, and the fading on the surface is only a mm deep, I trimmed off just the ends of the pile and the color is 'untouched' below (yes, later I will trim the entire rug!)...this way, the rug can live on for many more years!

Update, side one done (except for the final trimming of the fringe length), once all fringe was in, I went back and stitched between the knots to secure the exposed wefts...used a little black coffee to stain the silk...
