Hi,
I think this one is silk because the ksi are so high and it is incredibly fine and lightweight compared to the wool rugs I have. Am I right?
The colors seem very limited: Red, white, green, black, and gray. Need your help with its ID,
What age is it, and approximate value? It measures 27" x 45". Thanks.

I may be totally mistaken here, but this one looks more like machine made, with synthetic fibers, added cotton(?) fringe, to me.

Also a strange mixture of Caucasian design with Turkmen 1940s or so colour palette.

Well, it's good I have help from this forum, as you can see I'm a novice. I am learning from books and the internet about rugs now.
My first instinct was that it was machine made because of its weight, but then I started reading about high kpi with silk rugs and started wondering if it could be silk? I was suspicious when I saw the fringe was added-on too. I think the fringe is rayon, ( I did a burn test and it smelled like it).

Is added-on fringe an indication of a machine made rug?

I did a burn test on the fibers of the rug but couldn't smell much of anything with them and the fibers just blackened crisp like silk is supposed to, so I thought it must be silk.
Anyway again, thanks for your help.
I'll be asking about other rugs soon, when I get pictures of them.
