I have a rug that I am told is a braided rag rug, but in the middle the ropes are not woven together, only at the ends. There are about 25 ropes and are tan on the sides and colored in the middle. Does this sound like a certain kind of rag rug? Thanks for any help. If you would like a picture email me. Scott Miller

Hi, post some photos of your 'rag rug', which is an art form very different than what "Rug Rag" usually talks about. Rag rugs come in all different forms and can be made by pretty much anyone...I made one out of silk scraps, usually they are braided, or sewn together...the one I made is a coiling technique...

I think it attached. Any help would be great, we have had it hanging in our house for 5 years and have always wondered what it is.

What you have is a 'coiled fiber art', not a rug, simply a type of art to hang and enjoy...it would be very difficult to ever know who the artist was, as these are one of a kind pieces.
