Since there aren't many posts I'm trying to put a few on.

The two pictures are of a nicely executed Tabriz mahi wool silk 50 raj that certainly needs a cleaning and work on several spots. The rug is 7X10 approx.

The coin pictures shows the back side with the typical mahi coloring.

My simply question is the change is color a sun fading, a chemical attempt to mute the rug, or what? The lighting makes the pink even lighter.but what does that. An attempt to mute would seem to be strange since mahi are that bold, and it's not originally a cheap rug

And if anyone would be kind enough to give an age to my previous post on a turkish prayer rug that would also be appreciated

I only have the two pictures, but hopefully they are enough since I'm not asking for identification, but color change.

Often rugs are made with colors that don`t fit western markets. These colors are repainted. Often a pink or orange tone is painted to make the rug look more harmonic.

As always thanks KAD. It seems in my western taste that it's a shame to touch a rug as nice as this in comtempary times.
