Hello everyone,

Today there was some good publicity on the recent sale of a very old Kerman rug at Christies.

It sold for $9.6 million a few weeks ago. The Wall Street Journal published this article just this morning.

In the spirit of the trying times in the rug Market, I would like to encourage any and all to please consider posting a comment on the wall street jourals website about it. Registration is free

It sold 15 April 2010 . I very much doubt that is the 17 th century. I saw this rug at an auction in Germany and he would look more fresh..... Of course I would have thought that my eyes deceived me, but there was also a minimum of 10 carpets dealers and we have not come for this rug! Christies ... so many stories ...

Well, I do not always agree on the ages given to rugs in auction houses, but on this rug a c14 would not be such a big problem. I also don`t get the point in christiesunmasked - and I am not buying the book!
