Cleaning fake-silk and (silky) bamboo rugs?

I'm looking for advice on cleaning fake-silk and bamboo rugs:

Came across a couple of rugs both are fake silk as far as I can tell although I think one is cotton/rayon type material and the other is bamboo (we have a modern tufted rug made from 100% bamboo, it must be shaved down into fibres and mercerized in a similar way they do with cotton, giving it much the appearance and feel of silk).

One of them (the non-bamboo) smells typically like burning paper but the possible bamboo has a much fainter smell and chalks a bit when burnt, advice on cleaning (or whether or not to clean) would be welcomed.

Bamboo is chemically treated and turns into a type of Rayon (I have a bamboo shirt and it washes nicely) but I did try to wash my art. silk chinese rug and it turned out so bad that I donated it.
