Hi, I am hoping someone can give me a bit of advice on two identical rugs I own, and no longer want. I know they are nothing very special, but I don't want to give them away if they're worth more than a few dollars.
I purchased them 20years ago at a yard sale for $25 apiece. The seller said he was getting rid of them because his dog was allergic to wool (!) He said they had been given to him as a housewarming gift so he didn't much care about getting a lot for them.
The label on the back says:
"Hand Knotted Indian Rug/ 100% Wool Pile /Mothproofed /Jaipur/Color Bronze/ Design 3525/ size approx 5.6 x 8.6/Trans Ocean Import Co Inc. 919 3rd Ave New York NY 10022/ Hand Made in India.
They are in pretty good shape except for some wear on the edges-- I think from the vacuum cleaner. They are also filthy dirty.
I'd like to know what to do with them. Haul them away to charity? Sell them on Craigslist and for what? $10 each? $100 each? I have no clue. And would it be worth the money to have them cleaned before trying to sell them?
