Hello there! It's taken me WAY too long to find this site! I've had this rug for 12 years since we bought our home. We are thinking of re-decorating, and probably need to sell this rug. It's about 10 feet by 13 feet. Some portions of it have less "pile" than others, but there are no holes or tears.
I believe it is very old given the condition, and the fact that the house seller had a sister who was an antiques dealer in the 1950s.
I can take better photographs if necessary. The "pile" isn't soft - rather stiff / bristly - wondering if that indicates wool (or other material?)...
Looking to learn the age of the rug, the style/origin, and a rough idea of what it might be worth to a good buyer...
Anyway, thanks a lot for your interest!

Better images showing the back of the rug and the overall condition are needed to estimate the value for this piece. Low pile can affect the value. Looking at the photo you have posted, this is an old Persian rug most probably from the Sarouk (Arak) area.
