I'm a newbie so forgive if I know not what I do...d'oh! I purchased this, a little over 3 X 5 rug at an estate sale for under $100 dollars. Can you identify whether it is machine or hand woven and value for me. It has some rough edges. Thank You.

A Persian Hamadan rug, price is fine. You need to get the edges fixed before the pile starts unravelling. Of course, repairing the selvedge on a rug like this should not replace the missing knots as it can be a very expensive repair. Just have someone extend the binding all the way to the end of the rug as to prevent the rest of the pile from coming loose. This should not cost you much.
