What might this rug be?

I bought this rug for $30 at an Antique Store in Rhode Island to use on our sailboat.

It is 3 ft 5 in by 2 ft. It was dirty (dust and sand) and has a slight odor -- not strong, more like being in a room with a clean but wet dog. It has a frayed corner, ragged gray fringe and a small burn that I didn't notice until later. The red field has small white dots, which look like thread ends(?)

What might be its background and value? Should I have it professionally cleaned or go at it with Woolite and a hose? What does the word at the bottom mean?

It was made in Pakistan, Bukhara style prayer rug - about worth what you paid.

Thanks for the identification. With that info I've found some images that resemble the rug. I'll probably wash it myself after a bit of research on methods.

Can someone be so kind as to translate the word at the bottom of the rug?
