Ok, So, I have had this ridiculously huge rug for a few years now. Bought it from a second hand place in Scotland and my intention was to use it instead of a carpet as I couldn't afford a carpet!!!! So three of us manage to carry this floppy heavy filthy rug to my new house, to find that it was too big for any of the rooms. So I ended up with no Carpet, and a rug I couldnt use! I have over the last couple of years typed in some info that hasnt faded on the label into google, but have found very little, this is the rugs last chance to show me something interesting, or it's going !

I will insert some images and using the guides on this site I will try and make them useful. I did the burn test suggested on this site ( I think) And it stinks of human hair, the fringe is definitely hand woven as it is starting to de-weave itself in some places, the fringe is sewn right through the carpet. I did the 'floppy ' test, and I

could actually fold it in half, and another half , and another half, and thats as far as I have got really, so on with the photos of label and knots and all these words I have never encountered before! The rug is about 16 foot something by 11 foot something, it is enormous and horribly impractical..Images to follow on next post.

looks like a 1960's persian rug. Generally not worth much - you can tell by the dye shades, coarser weave, repair, etc.
