My mom inherited this Persian rug. Here's everything I know about it:

Handmade in Iran
Purchased from Amir Rugs in Richmond, VA in the 1960's
Measures 8' by 10'
About 90 KPSI, as best as I could count (if I counted correctly)

Can anyone help me identify this rug, and maybe tell me what it might be worth? There are additional photos available at http://www.flickr.com/ph...n/set-72157627068419785

Thanks so much for any help you might be able to give!

CORRECTION:
This one was purchased from Avakian Bros Inc in the 1960's, NOT Amir Bros.

It is a iranian Hamadan Sharbaft rug. Very good quality, but not fine. Rugs like this sell on ebay for 200 - 400$ for used and not washed.

This is an old Persian Hamadan Bibikabad, cotton foundation, wool pile. The KPSI must be as you counted. Decorative piece but not a collector's item, perhaps worth around $400. If you have it washed, it can still be used for many years.
