first is a machine made viscose pile. Second also looks machine made. Not worth much if anything

We are in the UK - which department store was it from?

I have to agree with RugPro, they do look like viscose. Have you tried a burn test? The first one looks machine-made and the red one looks like it's probably handmade but they would rarely do these designs in real silk... mori jaldar/bohkara variations which are Pakistani rugs.

Better pictures of the back (knotting) and fringes is really needed for both these rugs.

Definitely machine-made. Whether or not they're silk I do not know.
