I just bought this rug from an antique dealer for $950. I was curious to know where it was made? type of rug? age? and the value. It's is 8' x 10'1"

Thanks!

welcome to the forum. this is a newer rug from india. if it does not need any cleaning whatsoever, and has no condition issues, it's a very fair price.

Here is a photo of the back with a quarter. it looks like it's 14 x 14 for a 196 knot count. The rug is in great condition and doesn't need cleaning. If I wanted to sell this piece what would be the most I could realistically get for it? Where would be the best place to sell it?

it is a tightly woven rug, if you were to sell it, the price would be up to you. retail the carpet would be much more than you paid, but as a private seller, there is no way you could get a retail price, and you would have to sit on it for a long time. I would not purchase to resell. Most interest right now is in true persian rugs.

I bought the rug with the intention to keep it and have had it in my living room since I picked it up. In the meantime, I've come across a lovely Heriz rug (I have posted a pic of it in another post) and have no space for this one. What do you think is a price that would get this rug moved quickly and provide good value for the buyer and a good price for me? Any thoughts as to where I should sell it?

Thanks!
