Hi,

I would like to know your thoughts about how much this rug is worth. The store claimed that it is almost 100 yrs old and that it is Turkish in a Persian style. The rug is 66" by 49"

If you need more photos or info - let me know.

Hi, please describe the colors, they appear very bright. Specifically the orange tone. If you have better photos that would be of help. How much are they asking, what area of Turkey are the stating. It's not really a persian design

Possibly Bergama or around. Colors are pretty brite. Try not to use a flash.

I did not use flash. The colors do not appear that bright to me but what do I know... I have two other Persian rugs in the classical dark red and blue/black colors and they do seem to be darker than this one.

The orange is the dominant color and there are many shades of red and pink that slowly morph from darker to brighter in accordance to the design. non of the colors seem to be the same shade really... even the orange.

Any thoughts?

Here are some more pictures with a different camera and no flash.

the photographs are not in good enough lighting.

These are the images we need to see - selvage, fringe and back of the rug with a quarter. Seeing the wefting may help identify area. If you want a value for aesthetic value, we can provide that too, but looking at the structure is key.

As of right now, the rug is turkish, it appears to be older than 60 years, younger than 100. The dyes seem like they could be synthetic - your rug is missing the outer minor border on both ends. Not good for value. You can also see that the knots, which once were, may have left their color behind when reduced in length.

What did the seller want for the rug?
