Hello again, Posted this last weekend and even though I've had several folks look at the photos, I've gotten no answers.

Here's what I had posted originally...

Hello,

No idea what this is really beyond being a pictorial of some type. The rug measures approximately 2.0 ft x 3.4 ft (not including the fringe) and seems to have a knot pattern of 16 X 18, roughly 288 knots per square inch. There are 14-16 colors used and the main field color is a dark blue. There are also slight differences in the borders such as an extra symbol on the bottom, and what appears to be an incomplete symbol as well as reversed symbols on each side. Been told that it's hand knotted and possibly from China. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please let me know what you think... even if it's just a guess... or if you think it's a KMart special...

Thanks, Ken

Could be China but looks more Pakistan to me.

It's what they call a single-knot - horizontally you'll notice there's no colour with just one 'bump' for instance at the top of a triangle:

^^ Don't know if that'll help explain what I mean. Basically that's because these two "knots" are actually only the one knot. It looks more like 9x15 or 9x16 to me. Possibly Mori wool used in mori bohkaras or mori jaldars. I believe this can either be a mixture of wool and viscose (or art silk) or just viscose. It may just be wool, I'm not 100% on this.

The design I don't know if it's taken from anywhere in particular or if it's just pictorial. I wouldn't say it's a particularly valuable/expensive rug, a few hundred dollars at most.
