Hi there, I`m new to this forum, and would appreciate some help with a large carpet purchased by my wife`s grandparents in the 1920`s.

It is approx. 9x15, and not sure if they bought it overseas or if it was new or used at that time.
My father in law had the fringes repaired 20 years ago, and they appraised it at 25,000.00 then.

We will probably get it to an auction house for sale,as nobody in the family have the space for it.

Any help in it`s identity and value would be much appreciated !!

first quarter 20th century sarouk. could be 1930's, but if you have documentation stating earlier.... looks like it has some low areas. Worth having looked at in person, especially because of the larger size. isolated areas of wear look like they may be present? this would impact value heavily. also, the rug is very large, so these are not easy sells right now as a private seller
