seller states its an antique rug, approximately 6'8" x 4'5", and asking $400; um, I'm not sure what this is, but looks pretty nice, in good shape we're interested....please let us know what it is?

is this anything to get excited over?

Nice rug, age hard to tell. From around Sarouk: Dardjasin or more likely Hamadan Sharbaft. This design and color was made until the 1980`s, so from the pictures I would say maybe 1970`s. If the white sports on picture 2 are low pile / foundation, it would be not ok to pay 400. If it is only some dirt and the rug is full pile, price would be fair.

This rug is from Arak province, but not a Sarouk. If the pile is not low with no worn spots, then $400 would be a reasonable price. However, it is really not a piece to get excited over.

my vote is dagazine if it is single wefted. If it is double wefted, kazvin possible kaportrahang but not probable. where is the back of this rug photo
