I will try to post pictures of two rugs. One is a Tabriz that is about 10x14. We plan to purchase it for my daugter's wedding for $6250 including pad. It appears to be about 400 kpsi. Would that be 50 or 55 raj? The other is a Persian my other daughter brought back from Bahrain. It is 67 inches by 42 inches. It is signed on the front bottom. Can you give us some values. Thanks

Both your rugs are Persian, made in the city of "Khoy", but they are always sold as Tabriz rugs. However, it does not mean that they are not good rugs. The price you mentioned for the 10 X 14 seems to be a reasonable price to me. KPSI on these rugs is around 360 and they are considered as 50 raj. They may be even a bit less than 50 raj, but in the market, these rugs are always referred to as Persian Tabriz Herati Mahi 50 raj. For the smaller piece, something around $1000 would be a fair value in today's market.

If it is 50 raj this is a very good price. Go to Iran and try to buy a 3x2m 60raj (which is probably more realistically 55raj) and it will cost around $6000 as a dealer these days.
