Hi,
I don't know much about Persian/Oriental rugs, but a friend is offering me ONE of these. She has had them for 5 years.
Pls see the photos!

Sorry, I don't know the age, material, nor measurements, but the 'tabriz' (mostly dusty rose and white)is smaller than the 'ardekan' (multi-colour).

I need one for either my bedroom or dining room (the larger room). My furniture is walnut. I don't have curtains, cushions or bedding yet, so any colour will be fine by me...

What can you tell me about each of these rugs?
Which do you recommend for which room, and why?
TX!

The Tabriz is definitely a Tabriz, from the design and experience of similar rugs like this I'd say the chances are it's kurk wool and silk highlights with a cotton foundation.

The "Ardekan" I'm not sure is an Ardekan, it's hard to tell from the photos.

First impressions I'd say the lighter and finer Tabriz is more of a bedroom rug (although it would be a shame to hide it under the bed if that's the idea) but both could be used in either room - I've seen nice light Tabriz rugs under dining tables and they look great, but I wouldn't like to spill food or drink on it!
