Apologies this was posted to a wrong topic forum

Hi
a couple of years ago I was given what i understand is an Isfahan rug (it measures 63 inches by 41 inches approx) and as far as i can tell is in perfect condition. My knowledge of rugs is non existant and would appreciate any information those in the know can provide. I would never sell the rug but would appreciate a rough idea of valuation for insurance purposes.

I'd like to hang the rug eventually

I'vee posted some pictures on Flicker which i hope helps. Please let me know if any more info is required

Many thanks in advance

Do you have a photograph that would accurately show the knot count?>

As you know, it is difficult to appraise a rug by a few pictures. However, this is a Persian Isfahan rug and it looks like it is in a good condition. I am not very much concerned with the number of knots per square inch, as it does not always indicate a good rug. What is a 600 KPSI rug worth if the pattern or colors are not beautiful? I would appraise this rug around $1400-$1600 provided it has no repairs. I recommend you have it washed if it needs a wash, and fix the fringe as well as the side bindings. Such patterns make nice wall hangings. Good luck.

I would have thought it was a Shahreza rug.
