Hello,

I have a rug that I purchased at an auction liquidating the inventory of an art gallery owner that passed away. I would like help with value, and what it is. I believe I have a hand woven rug of unknown origin, although the inventory tag attributes it to Iran. It is wool and silk with a cotton base, a medium pile, in good condition with at least 11 colors.

My knowledge in rugs is limited to what I have found on this site (great resource). I normally sell vintage jewelry and glass, so I am completely out of my realm here. Help is appreciated, I intend to list it on ebay and came here so the experts can help to ensure that I do not dilute the market prices further. Yes, even the vintage jewelry market is diluted by fakes and people not knowing what they list.

Photos follow, and I am taking the tag with a grain of salt, considering that the design name is not spelled correctly. More photos upon any request, I will try to keep them at medium size to load quickly. My apologies if they are too large or small. I will check this post, and if the photos don't load I will come back and append. This is my first attempt at photos here. :)

Any idea of value? Is it even worth selling on ebay? I ask because I was in a car accident, totaled my truck and ended up with a broken leg and nothing to drive.

I would love help to list this properly, and I think we all know that correct listings not only bring money closer to true market, but also help other sellers by not diluting the market.

I appreciate the help.

Idea of design? Do you think wool or silk? To me it seems to be a mix of wool with silk accents. The hot pink pops in the pattern. Would you consider this a plain or elaborate pattern?

I have no idea about the prices in US Ebay. In Europe those rugs costs about 50 till 100,- Euro.
