seller states it's a sarouk from the 1930s; approximately 2x4 and aksing $100...is this worth it???

Condition doesn't look great, but still kind of nice (sort of)?

Please let me know your thoughts!

thanks.

You can spend 100$ and use it as is - it is ok. I think it you like it, it is no big deal to have all 4 edges fixed, the rug washed and it will be good for quite some time.

Looks to be in not a bad condition and for $100 could be a nice little buy. $200-300 would probably get you it cleaned and the sides bound/fringes secured.

Not sure on the age.

hey, thanks KAD and Little Persia, I think i'm going to see how low they'll go on price and buy it. i've been looking for little scatter-size sarouk/kerman rugs and if there are no bad signs when i'm able to view it in person, i'll probably buy. i will be sure to look for signs of dry-rot that KAD pointed out in a previous reply to one of my posts.

thanks again!

BOUGHT IT!!!! Please see the new pics; it looks great except for the one corner and tear, but you can't beat it for $40!!! yep, bought it for $40...

so, i think it's 1920s sarouk with approximately 132 kpsi, but would like to get the Forum's expert opinion on age, origin and approximate value. obviously, it need some TLC, but still very, very nice...what should i expect to pay in repair, and what should i have done (certainly needs a bath)...

thanks again!
