Rank: Member Groups: Member Joined: 12/19/2010(UTC) Posts: 22 Points: 66		Hi, I know this small rug (27" x 48") doesn't look like the last one I posted that was identified as Persian Lilihan, but when I researched Lilihan online, I found some rugs that looked a lot like this too. So is this a Persian Lilihan also? And would you say it was from the early 1900s too? If not, can you please help me ID it and date it? I am most grateful for any help. Rugs are a dizzying field of mystery for me! Also I noted that there are a few little bright pink dots on this rug that look painted on. You can see it in the 2nd photo. Was that done at a later date for some reason? Thanks, Artis.

The pink dots where added later - someone painted the white dots that show when a rug is worn and the pile is low. Then the knots that where made when warp or weft was at an end while producing the rug and a new warp or weft was on to the old one. If you use some water and a shampoo the pink will probably go away rather easy.
