Hi I am new to this forum and would love any advice that could be offered. I have been looking at silk on silk Kashmir rugs and also silk on cotton whilst I am staying here in India (Hyderabad). To my untrained eye, they look very beautiful. However, I have been rather scared by all of the articles I have read on artificial silk rugs and Chinese made, etc. I am specifically looking at rugs in 8 x 10 and also 9 x 12 rugs. I have also seen some 6 x 9 sizes. Rugs appear to be genuine, very well made, high degree of knots, etc but it is hard to tell. Unfortunately I have not taken pictures. I will try to do this, but as a general rule, how likely is it that I am seeing genuine silk rugs from Kashmir? Prices I have been quoted are as follows:

8 x 10 - between 4k and 6.6k (US) after hard bargaining.
6 x 9 - between 3 and 5k after bargaining
9 x 12 - between 11k and 18k (for silk on silk).

Any advice would be appreciated. Anything to look for specifically? I don't want to be ripped off. Are these fair prices? Will try to get pictures within a week or so.
