A lady brought me 4 rugs for cleaning. She did not have any documentation or receipts. I was hoping you guys could give me a little info on the rugs and what you thought of them. The first rug is 3'10" x 6'6". The second is a runner that is 31" x 12'9". The last two small ones are 27" x 42" and 29" x 43". They have the same pattern but the colors are arranged differently. She bought them new 19 years ago and paid over $4,500 for all 4. I'm curious about what type they are, where they may have come from, etc. If you believe she overpaid for the rugs, I'll keep that info to my self. Thanks in advance for your input.

Rug 1: India, good quality, Retail new 550 - 650 USD
Rug 2: India, good quality, retail new 700 - 800 USD
Rug 3 / 4: Iran, Jozan, good quality, retail new ca. 350 - 400 USD each

If she bought them 19 years ago, the Iranian rugs might have been very much more expensive since it was during the first embargo against Iranian goods.

Would suggest the Jozan is worth a bit more than that but if she paid $4500 19 years ago she got ripped off.

Thank you for the info. I tried looking at oriental rug info sites to see if I could determine their origin myself and found that task daunting. I'm seeing more and more oriental rugs now, and my appreciation for the art and craftsmanship has grown immeasurably.
