looks like a typical pak persian of nice quality. wool pile cotton foundation. probably no more than 20 years old. what is the size? where are you located? what is the condition, how did you acquire, this will all affect value.

It would probably be worth it to bring it to a local rug dealer for a verbal appraisal because the quality of wool would really help determine a lot here. ballpark in any event for private party, around $1500 would probably be fair (if you waited it out) and if it has no problems or stains and is excellent condition. I would not be worried. Depending on how you purchased the rug, as mentioned in the previous post, the country of origin and quality of wool would be a big determining factor.
