I am not sure how old this rug is, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it designs.
An example is on one borders there is a X design put in squares with the x touching each corner, and on the other side the square is elongated to a rectangle with the x not touching each corner. Therefore, this is a poorly executed rug or a rug without normal design constraints.

Hello Bart.

This is a very common Gashgai/Khamseh design. Early 20 ct.

Chris,
Thanks, I knew the triple diamond connect was common, I just didn't know if the lack of any pattern was a sign of the times or a novice rug maker.

Appreciated

I was just told the rug is worth $3,500 to $10,000 depending on the paperwork I have on it. I have no idea the expertise if any the man had.

First I have no illusions that the rug is worth near that much, and I'm not sure of paperwwork since a rug isn't ID'ed like a sports card signature.

My thought is it is a $500 rug. It has no repair, but certainly needs to be stablized.

Am I way off? I'll include a couple more pictures

Thanks,
Bart

500$ is still too much. It is not that rare but in very poor condition.
