My grandmother's rug is approx. 12'x17'. Has little traffic wear, one corner is frayed about 6". The rug has always been in the home she built in the mid to late 40's. Now I have it stored in my home. We no nothing of this rug. can you please help us out. I have always loved this rug, and would like to know everything I can about it. Thank you.

beautiful american sarouk (made in persia) from around 1940's or so. the rugrag.com guys have documented a lot of the importer codes/wash tag which could be useful to further id. does the rug have any damage or need a cleaning?

Thank you. Yes one end is frayed (still attached) about 6". I hope you all can help me out as I have no clue about it other than it was in formal living room and no one allowed in that room except for VIP company.
