Hello

I inherited this rug and know nothing about it. I would like to get more information about it like where it was made, style, etc. I would also like to get an estimation of value.

I believe it is handwoven
There is what appears to be signature on the back in sharpie but I can't make it out.
Also in sharpie on the back there is the following "6392A" (I think that is what is written.)
Size is just under 3' X 5'
It is surprisingly soft to the touch
The relative I inherited it from was wealthy

Any information you can provide would is greatly appreciated. I would be happy to sell it to you as well. ;)

From the pictures it looks like a Kashmir artifical silk (Viscose) rug to me. In this size they sell at ca. 350 - 400 USD new.

I did a burn test on a piece of the fringe and a knot. It smelt similar to burning hair and seemed to burn as real silk does. I have posted pictures of my results from the burn test.
