Hi,
This is an Antique Persian Oriental Rug. This was acquired by my Uncle (my Father's elder brother) in 1968 from Brighten Corner, Almora District, Uttaranchal, India. This rug has a whole history behind it and was previously a property of Raja Jahangirabad (Raja Aizaz Rasool Khan) and after his death came under possession of my Uncle who was Assistant Engineer, Provincial Division, PWD, Almora.
Currently it is under my possession. This rug is at least 110 years old and was presented to the royal family of Raja Jahangirabad's family by Persian carpet makers of that time.

Dimensions - 6.3 x 4 ft.
Material - Wool on cotton
Colors Used - Several colors are used - green , yellow, brown etc.
Wearing - Some wearing and fading at some locations. Fringes are torn at places. Nevertheless, overall the rug looks amazing and stunning. Very minute details like the camel hooves, faces of camel owners etc. can be seen and enjoyed even now and depict the intricacy of design and hard work. Given it's age the condition can be said as excellent.
Washing etc.- No washing etc has been done since it's possession in 1968. I can't tell what happened before that period.
Please comment.
Thanks a lot.
