or is it just wishful thinking. I find the the panel at each end with middle tree of life interesting.
How old and from where

The ends are into the border so no fringe to show

In casse the pictures is unclear it has a double wefted blue selvage

On the photos the selvages look brown. Could they be goat's hair? (individual hairs that are thin, stiff and shiny coming out a bit here and there?
Overall, it looks like an old Beluch (as in 1st half 20th century), with oxidized browns, typical Beluch colours.
As to the weave, the experts need to say whether this is compatible with Beluch.
Beluch usually have brown selvages, so blue would suggest something else, perhaps.

Thanks, Shereen. I'll two pictures in case they help with the goat hair question althugh he fringe is very soft, and where the selvage turns, by wear, from blue to brown

I am not THE EXPERT in Belutch, but my guess would be 1900 - 1930. Nice and attractive design, good collectors rug. The corroded black is typical for the age.
