I swear I almost bid on these exact same rugs a few weeks ago on eBay for a LOT less and no story.

Hey Krow, you have a great memory.

I know Tabriz was pretty hot on the eBay scene, and I asked him to give me some tips. He responded to me with a list of sellers that buy with one ID and sell with another. Take a look at this for example. Then for comparison, go to this one being offered by the same seller you spoke of. I didn't take too much time to compare and contrast feedback, but Im 100% certain this buyer is also the same individual as the seller.

unmistakably the same carpet!

Sure is the same carpet. But at least he is not jacking it up by several thousands. How shameless, and just plain dumb, to turn around and sell on eBay. I guess they don't know people peruse that site and what's on offer with a fine tooth comb.

Oh and by the way, rule of thumb: If it comes from Morocco, or even Morrocco, just add $2,000 to the base price and you're good to go. (jk of course for those who don't know the Krow humor)

haha, well, I'm pretty sure that once the rug disappears from feedback, it gets jacked up in price. I wouldn't be surprised if that Moroccan piece was purchased for $200 bucks or less. That seller in VA or NC has similar rugs, no?

Every now and then. Not standard fare for those guys though. They all seem to have pretty much the same range, even ECG and Pakobel, but then every now and then something totally different pops up and sticks out like, either a sore thumb or a beautifully manicured one. Which is why I love to puruse the offerings daily. Now that I have totally acclimated myself to what is on eBay, I can spot the anamolies. What they DON'T have, my guys, are those Moroccans that I love. I stupidly missed some great ones, and now they are going for insane prices. But if you are in the business of reselling you have to raise the prices above what you paid for them, but tacking on an extra couple or three grand seems a bit stupid, as no one is going to pay that except some clueless person with too much money who doesn't watch the rug scene on eBay.
