Well, over the last year I have been in search of something which might seem quite mundane but which hasn't yet materialized:
a 9 X 12 navy kashan, preferably medallion, with a lot of navy and a very good bright/light blue; the inclusion of red is fine to, along with a range of other colors, as long as the blues are very present, even if not totally dominant.
I would like a rug in excellent condition, with minimal irregularities shape-wise. I can tolerate damage as long as the repairs are good. I don't want a very worn rug. My house is very worn, and I am very worn, so I need a rug to show me the brighter side. However, I also need a rug to bind me to the people who made it, and to open that thread.
Although I specify navy medallion Kashan (on the basis that *I know* a 9 X 13 Ardakan looks well in the space (my library), I am also open to Ardakans, obviously, and indeed any hand-made 9 X 12 or 8 X 11 hand-made wool rug with a lot of blue, including dark blue. Isfahan is very nice. Contemporary is fine. Arts & Crafts too. I'm not sure who's here these days but hello!
Oh yes, budget: low, or if we are generous, low-to-medium.
