After I posted I found a very similiar rug in Collins Gallery. That rug was listed as a 1940. Could I presume this is also a 1940's bijar. It is 46"X66"

The Atiyeh Bros and Avakian Rugs labels are somewhat interesting to me. These are both very reputable firms that were involved in early Iranian exports I know Atiyeh had a Kerman factory and there are Atiyeh Kermans, but this seems more of identifying tag (it has spot for "make" and "rug number") than anything else. I called Atiyeh, but they didn't have any information.

I guess I was hoping these two names would denote quality rug, and this rug looks to me as a quality rug. In person it is a very pretty rug.

Thanks for any other info or correction to my assumptions.

Thanks to the both of you. Question? The reason I went earlier wasn't that I saw a picture that looked the same, but that that pictures had light blue.
Did the 60s-70s also have light blue or is light blue a marker of an older rug. I guess I have at least got to the point that there are certain markers of a rug's age, now
I have to figure out which markers really make a difference
The notice in the on close up of the flower there is a lot of light blue color

Thanks again,

No, I got bored my evening and went to an weekly auction which is mostly boxes of junk for $10 but pictured some rugs. Turned out there was a very very nice antique prayer rug that went for $450 (myself and another gentleman moaned that we hadn't previewed it before the auction) and this bijar
