I have two rugs I inherited that were made in Japan. They were made some time prior to 1950 (probably mid 40's), I'm not exactly sure of the date but am working to find that out. They are wool, and are made in what I've learned is the "Art Deco Chinese" style. Apparently, Oriental Carpet Mills started in 1935 using Chinese workers continuing this style and they are still in business today.
I only have photos of the small one at the moment (4x7) as it is easier to unroll and photo. The larger one is 9x12 and the same colors, but does not have a border, only floral accents on the green ground.

I want to sell these rugs, but I'm struggling to figure out a fair value and/or how to find a potential buyer. Any ideas? Are rugs from Oriental Carpet Mills worth anything to anyone?
Thanks!

The rugs are heavy (expensive to ship) try selling locally (like Craig's list) Rug calculator~$12 sq ft if in good condition, not very popular design now, so will have to work with price.

agreed, if in perfect condition it could be higher price because japanese rugs are somewhat hard to come by and usually made extra well. super heavy as fredgrower mentioned.

Thanks for the info.
I've finally gotten around to photos of the larger rug. It is in very good condition, but the fringe on one end is cut short. The rug is VERY heavy, the pile is at least 3/4 inch! If anyone knows of someone looking for Japanese rugs, send them my way!

There are some interior decorators, especially in larger cities, that include vintage and antique rugs in their creations. (Some you can find online.) Art deco is somewhat en vogue. If these two rugs are in very good condition, they may just complete someone's creation of that super special bedroom or so, the smaller one in the boudoir, the larger in the bedroom itself, for instance.
