Is this an oriental? I am told it is very old?? Please assist me

I am trying to determine my rugs worth and age, any body who can educate me? It has been in the family for years, how many years do you think it's been around at all? It is about 8' 6" wide X 11 6" long. It is on the thinner side and looks like the two ends were hand sewn as in the picture I took. The colors are darker blue, lighter blue and gold. Thanks in advance for your help :)

Your rug is a nice replication of an antique chinese rug. It is machine made, therefore there is no great value. In the size you mentioned it is worth around 100 - 150$. These rugs where made from arund the 1950 until now, so it is hard to tell the exact age.
