This is my "last rug"...didn't think I could afford it, but couldn't walk away...got it today, beyond my wildest dreams!
It's nearly perfect, the pile is thick as if no one has ever walked on it, a few surface stains, most of which I could wipe off with a wet rag. Silk foundation with a few silk highlights. Crazy animal designs!

Info I found on the "late Master" http://www.persiancarpetguide.c...ter_Sadegh_Seirafian.htm

Thanks KAD! The guy I bought it from was really nice and even supplied a copy of the paperwork from the 'Christies auction' (he was the actual buyer)...I asked him why he was selling it, he said he needed the space (I understand this problem)...he gave me a good deal on the price:)

Thanks for the complement...at the time, it was quite the dilemma on whether or not to spend the $$$$, but the more I studied it, the more I wanted it. It is a big responsibility to own such a rug...trying to keep it safe for future generations to enjoy. I have no regrets on buying it:)

Persian Isfahan signed: "Ordered by Sadegh Seirafian, Isfahan-Iran", a great piece, beautiful pattern, absolutely fantastic colors. Since the pattern is "one-way", I recommend you use it as a wall hanging on the wall. It is worth whatever you paid for it. Enjoy it.
