The Kerman is of extremely poor wool quality, but for this money it is ok - you can hardly expect more in this pricerange. You must be aware that it will not last long. Also the back view picture showes moth damage. If it is only the pictured area, it is no problem. If it has more or still living "meat", than it might be a problem.

The Meshed is already there where the Kerman will be soom - bold and worn. It is not all the way down jet, but the pile is gone on major areas of the rug. If you don`t use the rug so much, you can have them for many years. If you use them a lot, you must be aware that sooner or later they will have to be replaced because they will wear.

If I had to choose between both I would take the Mesched - max $ 300.

Thank you very much, KAD. I will continue to look. I don't have a lot of money but want whatever I buy to fly me into the next world.

I got this one http://rover.ebay.com/ro...;icep_item=167098272025
It is darker than I expected, not quite as luscious as in the mind's eye; also it had a lot of pulls in the outer guard border.
I'm still getting used to it. This one was made in Iran, and I guess subliminally the design appealed to my Irish heart.
By the Indian rug, do you mean Jahann's Arts & Crafts rug? http://forum.rugrag.com/...sts&m=7095#post7095
I decided to pass for the moment as it is hard for me to assess color online.
I like it though; but am still looking for a 9 X 12 for the space, for which I started off wanting a Kashan design.
If I am in DC, I will call into the store.
