Hello everybody,
Rugs is my new passion...I got a few interesting rugs recently and would appreciate some help regarding identification 2 of those...and some judgement...
The first is 11 by 9 and lively colours...but what is origin age and value?
And the second one is finely knotted silk...6.5 by 4....was told that it's an esfahan but still not sure origin, age and value...
What do you think of those two rugs?

Many thanks,
Maciej

Yes, it looks more like a woolen Indian Agra or Pakistan Lahore. The first looks like Dowlatabad from Afghanistan.

First one looks a lot like a piece I picked up in Mashaad (that was just the drop point - it likely came from Afghanistan). The thick, string-like warp caught my eye.

Second one - really pretty design - almost looks like an adaptation on a Bidjar motif. Colors not quite right to my eyes.

Chris got both right. First Afghan Dowlatabad, ca. 500 - 600 $ in it lays flat without to many fold, the other one is Pak Persian Lahore from the 1970`s, with Kerman inspired design, ca. 250 $. Both are nice and seem to be in good condition for their age.
