Hi, I have this nice tabriz that i beleive is authentic.
It is 11'6 by 8'6. It is mostly dark blue(almost black) with earthy reds and cremes.
Can anyone shed any light on value of it?
Thanks

I bougt it from an online rug dealer. He seemed reputable. I don't think this is 50 raj though like he said.

Can someone help me with the KPSI/Raj of this rug.
I keep counting 11 x 15 knots = 165 KPSI
Converting this to raj it is 35 approximately...
Am I missing something?

tell us how much you paid and where and how you acquired it. you're right, it is not 50. I count 12x15, which you have to add one knot (for every 12) for the quarter being smaller than an inch. so 13x16 = 208, or about 40 RAJ

I bought it from an online rug dealer. I paid 2300 dollars. He said it was 50 raj...
Thanks for the help, I didn't know you had to add one for the quarter being smaller. It makes me feel a little better it is 40 raj.

Yes I know. He also told me the carpet is worth 18,000 retail..

Your fairly confident that this is of Iranian origin from tabriz?
How would you know it wasn't a chinese or indian or pakistani copy?

iran tabriz, yes. 18,000 is more than absurd. it's outrageous. I almost want to know who these people are to see what other bogus marketing ploys they have up their sleeves. Price paid is not bad tho. can tell it is tabriz by all the images you posted. the selvage, the fringe, the knots, the design, the colors,

Ok thanks. Yes I calculated it out to about 20 per sq ft, plus tax, duty, and shipping.. it looks nice in real life.

Thanks for all your help!
