I am wondering about this rug http://rover.ebay.com/ro...9&mtid=824&kw=lg
which is more geometric than the medallion kashan/ardakans I have been looking at.
Can anyone advise about "dabir"; also what a reasonable bid for this might be?
Thank you!

I'd suggest NOT to buy a rug from this seller. The first eBay rug I bought was here, it looked fine in the photo/description, I received a heavily flawed rug. When I tried to return the rug the seller started a fight with me, I sent the rug back anyway and swore never to buy rugs on eBay again (but I do now, just not this seller)...other buyers saw my feedback and said they had similar experiences with this seller (if you scroll down on the feedback link you can see" THESE PEOPLE WERE HORRIBLE TO GET A REFUND FROM." This was from 1-21-10 (not my feedback)), these people have not changed their ways. My best eBay experiences are from non-rug people selling stuff.

With bidding, go low with the first offer (with the 'make an offer' listings), as the seller usually responds with a 'counter offer' which is higher...

Thank you so much fredgrower. As I have not bought on eBay before, I thought I might confine myself to Spongobongo's recommended trusted resources -- this seller is one of those. It is very helpful to know I should tread lightly there too. Okay, so I will try non-rug people. Thank you!

Hi,

This seller is a fool, an idiot and a jerk. Dabir kashan is a name associated with very high grade rugs. Also, design is like a joshegan,

no problem. I mean i just don't trust people like this, but if you were to purchase or make an offer I would lowball. The pictures do not show anything on the condition, but often these rugs have a propensity for color run, moth damage and easy wear. fair price without being able to ascertain condition I would say $300 shipped. if you do purchase, be sure to pay through paypal with a credit card so refund recovery is easier if there are any problems. I like your profile picture by the way.

This carpet is of course not Kashan Dabir, but it has a simplified design Dabir. Of course, real Kashan Dabir, as already noticed RugPro - a high quality carpets.

I bought ???? this seller more than 10 times, mostly it was very expensive carpets. I have not had any problems.

Bukhara, did you ever have to get a refund from this seller? When I bought it was years ago, but I had never dealt with anyone so mean and nasty when it came to returning something...were you happy with the rugs you got?

Yes, I was happy with all carpets, which I bought from him. BUT I knew what I buy, so I did not have any fantasy that this would be much better than I expected. Each buyer must be at least learn a little about what he wants to buy and then you have no reason to get upset. I understand your problem, because it is a big seller with thousands of rugs and hundreds of email every day. And there is only one manager. Perhaps he simply did not cope with the heavy workload. Although this does not justify his actions. He had to take the rug back, if it was stated in the description.

I recommend you to not buy carpet on ebay. Because it is very risky to buy. I tried couple of time but never being happy. Good luck.
