Cheap Tabriz, 20 raj quality, bleached. These rugs used to have the typical red - blue - green colors. They are bleached to fit the actual fashion trend and look antique. This wash is like the Pakistan Chobi / Ziegler rugs. It is quite decorative if you like this color style, but the chemical treatment damages the wool. Typical ebay stuff. Looks better than it is, is cheap and easy to sell. Due to the bleached color, it looks like it is antique, but actually these rugs are made in the 1970s. Since their quality is not so good, they loose pile rather fast. They are collected in Iran, raped to look antique, and sold as true antique rug. This sample is even sold as Pre 1900 : http://rover.ebay.com/ro...9&mtid=824&kw=lg

It you payed 500 the price is ok. If you like the desigh and color it is ok as well. You have bought the rug at its regular value. If you have it at home and dont like it it any more, I am sure you can sell it at this price again - so you did not make such a bad deal at all. It is just not as antique as it looks. But if you want to buy a real good antique Tabriz, you are looking at least 10 - 20 times of what you payed.
