This 7'4X4'7" rug doesn't seem to have a center defined design. These are pictures from Craigslist so I might be asking too much with the incomplete pictures but I was curious. The rug is listed for $199.

Thanks

The middle motifs looks to me like a Karabag Carpet from Armenia / Caucasus - but I wouldn't bet my money on it :) Anybody else on this one?

I agree with carpetview - armenian Karabagh. A little bright colors, some colors ran, and the rug needs some work, but for this price - buy it! The design is called Gol Farang in Iran. This means frensh flower. It is a original frensh textile design. The russian Zars where very into everything frensh, and imported a lot frensh merchantise. In the caucasus they had rugs made for their domestic use with designs that fit their taste and style. So a frensh flower became a oriental design. It is found in Karabagh / Caucasus, in Senneh / Iran, and in Afshar and Sirjan / Iran.

Once again you've given a very complete indepth explanation of the rug. I was aware of the shortcoming, but at the same time the uniqueness. It's a lot easier to take chances how it will look at home when it's a $200 rather than a $2,000 rug.

Thanks again
