I had been hoping this 35"X115" kilim has some age to it, then I realized the cotton foundation does away with that thought.
Obviously has some black color runs, but it was decorative piece. First kilim I have bought.

If I may ask, where is it from and what age is it.

NOTE, someone told me today that a kilim with cotton can not be old. However, my research states that is wrong. Therefore, I am hoping someone will help me with the age. Also is it a Turkiish/Armenian rug?

Thanks
Bart

To me, this rug looks to be Iranian, probably from the North, or it could be Kurdish. With the color scheme, I don't think it could be Shirazi. It is possible that this rug has been chemically washed to look older than it is...maybe that is where the color running came from? I don't think it could be older than 1950s. Just my two cents...

I think this one comes from either North-East Turkey or Armenia / Caucasus. The geometrical patterns and design inspires a Caucasian kilim - but the colours are not exactly what you would expect.
I don't think it is a Kurdish nor an Iranian Kilim.
