I purchased this rug in 1985 in Germany. I have only had it cleaned once many years ago,. We now live in a very rural area and to have it cleaned I would have to have it shipped somewhere. I am trying to decide if it is worth the cost of cleaning. I paid 4914 DM for it which was $1565. If it is worth the cost of cleaning, I would appreciate recommendations as to where. Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Linda.
You bought the carpet from Turkas in Karlsruhe. Turkas was the one of the biggest rug trader in Germany but he get quit of his business for about 5 years.
Well, why not cleaning the rug! It is a nice white ground China and looks in pretty good condition. The actuall value is not as high as you paid in 1985. I guess less than 300,- USD in this condition but in a store you have to pay more than 1.000,- for a new one.
