Just after apologizing for too many post, I am including another since i need to made a decision. I have two options for cleaning this rug tomorrow one for $1.90 per sqft) "surface cleaning" at a very reputable store or have a "full" cleaning for $3.50 per ft by another reputable store that first puts them in a flat tank etc. Therefore, my question is if the rug is worth the more expensive (ofcourse first determining if the $3.50 is that much better).

This i 7X10 rug was on Craiglist as a 5X7 for several weeks with incomplete pictures and stored a a basement crevice so you couldn't see it. I bought it today for $100, found out it was a 7X10 and the lady was just glad to get it out of her basement. The rug almost cost me a heart attack trying to get it up narrow stair by myself. It weighs a ton.

I've tried to research, but all I know is there are different types of Heriz and I would have to guess this is of the courser end (gorevan?)

I believe the blues etc will be a lot different after a good cleaing. It is dirty, but no smell, water or moth damaage or stains that I can see.

Thanks Chris, I should have waited, but I took it in. I will do the handwarm water next time. I was afraid of color run, but I guess if the colors have held this long I could always have checked on a spot.
Any thought on age? The person I took it to, not an expert just a washer, thought maybe '60s due to condition and for no other reason. That is probably true, but I didn't know if you had any thoughts. The reason I wanted it washed is the hope it would bring out some of the other blues, etc.
