Hi everyone,

Here's a rug I've got my eyes on--it's advertised as a Mood rug. It's a 8'6''x 11'10'' and they're asking $550.

I'm really interested in what some of you experts have to say regarding style/origin/age/value.

The condition looks pretty good but do you see any bleeding? There's a salmon color and I can't tell if it's a separate color, or where the reds have bled a little.

Once again I really appreciate everyone's insight and expertise.

Well, Jesco.

First fault: the rug is reduced about minimum 5 knots rows. I cannot see bleeding.
This 1980 Mood should cost about 300,- USD.

Hey thanks so much Chris. That's something I would have never picked up on by myself. This is my first encounter with a Mood rug but I find them visually appealing. To me the style seems similar to Mahi rugs, which I also like.

This rug is also a Mahi design, and that term is generally used to describe tiny, repeating patterns on any type of rug. Sometimes this pattern is also referred to as Herati (though the Heratis are less likely to have a medallion.) If the pile is in good shape - you'll have to see it in person - then I would say it is worth it.

That's interesting about the Mahi/Herati rugs. Thanks for the additional info. Of all the styles of rugs I think right know I'm most interested in the Mahi rugs but I'm going to pass on this one. Since I plan on having it forever I really want to hold out on something phenomenal.
