Sometimes they say the Shiraz rugs are Qashqai but they aren't made by them. Shiraz rugs are woven in
and around the city. The many tribes of the Qashqai Federation used to make the textiles everyone wants so much.
I guess they still make a few but from what I hear the tribes have all but disappeared.
There is some evidence that some members of the tribes may have moved to the Shiraz area but I can't find
that information right now.

Thanks guys. I read the book about the search for the Wild Madder and the guy spent some time with Qashqai people. I wonder a little about them. Personally, I like Hamadan, Malayer, Bijar, Zanjan sorts of rugs better, but there is in me this want for a new or semi antique Qashqai rug. Are the Shiraz rugs made to look Qashqai, and how do they compare?
