Hello! I am so lucky to have stumbled upon this forum. What a wonderful group of experts sharing their wisdom and knowledge! About me - I love estate sales and usually stick with my personal area of expertise, vintage clothing and jewelery. However, at an estate sale last week, I found this fantastic rug and would be grateful for information on it. The owner of the estate was a super at a NYC apartment building and collected many, many rugs and carpets. This one measures approx. 6 feet by 4 feet. It needs some repair and a good cleaning. There appears to be silk (made it hard to photograph with the flash) and wool in the rug. There appears to be asian animals in the pattern. I would be interested in the origin, value, if it is worth repairing and if it would be of any value to a rug collector. Thanks a million!
